How Sugar Cane Benefits from the Cane Harvester

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

A cane harvester is a large agricultural machine, which harvests and processes sugarcane to a certain extent. Invented in the 1920s, it has a design and operability that is similar to combine harvesters. The truck has a storage vessel and a mechanical extension, cutting the base of every stalk, stripping the leaves, and cutting it into segments. After this, the Combine Harvestersegments are placed in the on-board container, or alternately, a different vehicle. The waste material is released into the field in order to be a fertilizer for the future crop.

The primary purpose of a cane harvester is for the harvest of burnt sugar cane and un-burnt sugar. It can be attached to any standard tractor with the twp point linkage.  An ordinary machine like this requires a minimum 80 horsepower, and a 4-wheel drive tractor.

Sugar cane is a tropical and sub-tropical plant with perennial grass, indicating that it grows for years after its harvest. In its pure form, it’s processed for sugar, and is a primary ingredient in ethanol, rum, and molasses. With the cane harvester, it can be extracted safely for use as fuel in sugar mills. It is also used in the production of paper.
